What is openZFS?

OpenZFS is a filesystem now open source. Natively coded by Sun Microsystems and released in 2005 over CDDL license, today, it’s under Unix and Linux distros. One of the distros is Ubuntu. You can now choose ZFS as the main pool format. In Unix, it came as default. You can install also FreeBSD with ZFS.
